I am very pleased with the repairs and the extension to the fence. A beautiful job done by a craftsman, admired by Barbara and me and our friends. Thank you.
I am thinking of recommending you to The Historic Houses Association, of which I am a member, but I should check you are happy with this.
John Hyde, Blithfield Manor, Staffordshire
I saw the gates yesterday. They look superb. Well worth the wait. I will also be ordering some more in the next few months.
Kirk Robinson, Cheshire
We had the wedding here on Saturday, it went really well! So many people commented on your arch from the paddock to the garden and the lovely gate, it was admired by nearly everyone. They also loved your fence, commenting on the chestnut posts particularly.
Thank you, you have made the garden for us, your work is special and will always be appreciated.
Ruth Irwin, Newark
Gates arrived today. Thank you. I love them, great character!

Simon was commissioned to install approximately 550m of 3 railed cleft fencing along a bridle path at Bank House Farm. The quotes received were good and the work was subsequently completed over a several week period. Simon completed the job to a very high standard and in a timely fashion. We now use Simon for all of our cleft fencing products on the estate and are very pleased with the product and service.

I had some time off last week and put up the fencing, I am delighted with the result, it looks fantastic.
A quality product.
Rob Broom., Barnstaple, Devon
In my role as Lead Ranger for the National Trust I have used Simon as a supplier of traditional fencing materials for a number of years.
The latest project that we used Simon on was the installation of a riven chestnut fence alongside a footpath through a tenant farmers land. Simon and his team completed the fencing to a high standard and liaised with the tenant farmer and myself to ensure the job was completed in a timely fashion with a minimum of disruption.
– Andrew Wyllie, Lead Ranger, Dunham Massey, Cheshire
Thanks for the great work, the gates blend perfectly with the hurdles and the whole thing looks fantastic.
Paul Frost, Buxton
Well as you can see from the photos the willow has sprung into life.
It seems to have done the job of stabilising the bank of the stream so job well done.
Peter and Julie Scott, Manchester
Mr Simon Fowler proceeded to hedge lay a number of hedges on the farm known as Woodcrofts Farm, Highwood, Uttoxeter, over a period of 4 years. These hedges were old, poor hedges to lay and Simon made a fantastic job with what he had to work with. The regrowth has been very good as well. I would thoroughly recommend his hedgelaying skills on whatever hedge he has to lay.
Simon Fowler has carried out hedgelaying on our farm for the past 8 years. When we bought our farm the hedges had not been managed for many years and required full restoration. Simon has undertaken the full restoration of our hedges to the standards of Natural England. The hedges are now stock proof and provide a wonderful habitat for wildlife. I can confidently recommend Simon as a hedgelayer and would be more than happy for him to undertake any further hedgelaying on our farm.
Anne Wilson, Wallands Farm, Matlock, Derbyshire.
Just to say thank you for the willow screens. They look great.
Thank you for making them and bringing them over.
We are now back home from our week away just wanted to say how much we enjoyed the two days we spent with you. The weather didn’t spoil the days for us and we learnt a lot and picked up some good tips. The soup, bread and cakes for lunch are also worth a mention, they were very tasty.
Just need to cut some chestnut trees down now to start practicing.
Lynn & Andy
I am really pleased with my hurdles and the job you made of putting them up, many thanks indeed.
Wanted to drop you a line as you can see from the attached the willow seems to be growing well – in the main between 4 & 6 feet.
Mike Paige, Grantham
Simon, thanks for doing such a great job.
Marcus Mead, Ashbourne, Derbyshire
Morning Simon. Fences all finished and look great. Thanks again.
Dr David Loveday, Shrewsbury
Simon was employed to run volunteer hedgelaying days – where we had up to 20 novice, members of the public who wanted to learn the techniques of this traditional craft.
Simon was extremely good at explaining, demonstrating and enabling people to do this over the two day courses and everyone left with a sense of achievement.
Gareth Knapper, Project Officer, Staffordshire Moorlands District Council
Just a short note to say how much I enjoyed the course at the weekend. It was a great experience and I enjoyed my all too short time in Derbyshire!
