Arches & Arbours
The arches and arbour seats we produce are made from willow woven about a 10mm solid steel rod frame. This ensures a uniform shape to the structure and aids durability. The steel frame lasts decades, so if over time the willow deteriorates, the frame can be rewoven.

Arches are re-woven in-situ, whereas arbour seats can be exchanged for an already complete new seat. (This only applies to standard size arbour seats.)

Standard size arches and seats are featured below, but most shapes and designs can be made. Email or phone with your design and we can supply a quote.

Standard size willow arch. 4 feet wide to accommodate a wheelbarrow, 7 feet high at the apex to allow comfortable passage, and 2 feet broad for stability. Fixed into the ground with steel pegs. CLICK TO ENLARGE.

Hazel arch : unlike the willow arch, hazel is too thick a material to weave about a steel frame. Made as a hurdle (see Wattle Hurdles) it relies on it`s inherent strength for stability.
